After several years of attending, volunteering, and being a Tastemaker myself, I am thrilled to lead the team this year with Fork Cancer. Cancer impacts our community by stealing potential memories with the ones we love. We are dedicated to engaging our community to raise funds to support those in the fight and let cancer know its days are numbered. I expect this to be our biggest year yet with not only a great event, but a fantastic group of Tastemakers representing all areas of our community. Thanks in advance for your help in this important work. Let’s Fork Cancer once and for all.
Leadership
The American Cancer Society provides information and resources to help patients and their loved ones manage through cancer treatment and recovery, and to help with the emotional support they need. They also work to remove barriers that stand between the patient and lifesaving treatment. For many patients with cancer, transportation challenges can create barriers to receive the treatment they need. Many people need daily or weekly treatment, often for several months. Family and friends may help, but they may not always have the time or resources to provide every ride. The American Cancer Society is proud to provide transportation assistance to those in need, by giving free rides to cancer-related medical appointments.
In 2025 alone, The Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge in New Orleans provided 7,910 free nights of lodging to Louisiana cancer patients and their care takers. This resulted in an estimated savings of $2.6M- reducing out of pocket expenses for cancer patients and their care takers.
Learn MoreFor more than 10 decades, the American Cancer Society has been dedicated to pursuing better outcomes for every cancer, every life. Today, more people are surviving cancer than ever before, but there is still work to be done. Join us, support us, and help us end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
