Baton Rouge’s premiere party with a purpose! Dance the night away while enjoying craft cocktails, small plates, silent auction, and live entertainment all while raising funds to support the American Cancer Society’s mission to end cancer as we know it- for everyone.
Fork Cancer’s impact is profound. In just a few years, we’ve seen the difference that community contributions can make in helping provide life-saving resources and services for individuals and families affected by cancer. The engagement and generosity of our Baton Rouge community gives us hope and resilience in the face of the estimated 29,400 new cancer cases expected in Louisiana this year.
As we prepare for the 4th Annual Fork Cancer event on Thursday, May 1, 2025, we invite you to join us in this transformative journey, where each of us can make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer. Together, we can build a future where cancer no longer affects our loved ones and our community.
LeadershipThe American Cancer Society provides information and resources to help patients and their loved ones manage through cancer treatment and recovery, and to help with the emotional support they need. They also work to remove barriers that stand between the patient and lifesaving treatment. For many patients with cancer, transportation challenges can create barriers to receive the treatment they need. Many people need daily or weekly treatment, often for several months. Family and friends may help, but they may not always have the time or resources to provide every ride. The American Cancer Society is proud to provide transportation assistance to those in need, by giving free rides to cancer-related medical appointments.
In the first 6 months of 2024 alone, The Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge in New Orleans provided 2,455 free nights of lodging to Louisiana cancer patients and their care takers.
